Jeffrey Schmid
President and Chief Executive Officer
Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City
Jeff Schmid is president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He represents the Tenth Federal Reserve District on the Federal Open Market Committee, which sets monetary policy for the United States.
Schmid leads a workforce of nearly 2,000 professionals engaged in the work of the central bank, including monitoring economic conditions, supervising banking institutions, and providing financial services to banks and the United States government. Through offices in Kansas City, Denver, Oklahoma City and Omaha, the Bank serves a seven-state region that includes western Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Colorado, Wyoming, and northern New Mexico. As Bank president, he hosts the annual Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium, bringing together international central bankers, academics, and policymakers to discuss economic and financial policy issues. Among the Bank’s accomplishments under his leadership is the implementation of a five-year strategy aligning the Bank’s efforts in serving the Tenth District. It is focused on deepening and expanding talent investments, leveraging expertise in technology and artificial intelligence, maximizing regional connections and communications, and advancing value-added analytics.
Schmid has more than 40 years of experience in banking and bank supervision. Prior to joining the Kansas City Fed in August 2023, he served as the president and CEO of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking Foundation at Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business, which focuses on bank leadership and strategic planning for community banks. Among his banking experience, he led Mutual of Omaha’s entry into banking sector, serving as chairman and CEO of Mutual of Omaha Bank which served depositors and borrowers nationwide. Jeff is a graduate of both the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at SMU. He is a native of Nebraska.
Dr. Ed Seifried
Professor of Economics
Lafayette College
​Dr. Seifried is Professor of Economics and Business at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. He is the Chief Economist for BNK Advisory Group, a community bank investment firm. He received his doctorate in economics and business from West Virginia University. In addition to his course schedule at Lafayette College, he is also a faculty member of numerous banking schools including: Stonier Graduate School of Banking, School of Banking of the South, Graduate School of Retail Bank Management. He serves as the dean of the Virginia and West Virginia Banking Schools. He frequently appears as a guest speaker at regional and national conferences. He has delivered over 2000 presentations to various groups both in the United States and abroad. He acts as a consultant to the credit union industry, and is well known as a speaker at credit union customer events and as a strategic planner. Dr Seifried authored the book “The Art of Strategic Planning for Community Banks.” Dr. Seifried has also served as a director of a community bank. Dr. Seifried has traveled extensively in the former Soviet Bloc countries where he served as an advisor and consultant to the newly privatized commercial banks.
Frank Kressman
General Counsel
NCUA
Frank Kressman serves as the agency’s General Counsel and leads the NCUA’s Office of General Counsel. This office’s duties include representing the agency in litigation, executing administrative actions, interpreting the Federal Credit Union Act and the NCUA’s rules and regulations, processing Freedom of Information Act requests, advising the NCUA Board and the agency on general legal matters, and maintaining the agency’s records management program. The General Counsel’s office also drafts regulations designed to ensure the continued safety and soundness of the credit union system.
Before his selection as General Counsel, Mr. Kressman served as a Deputy General Counsel to the NCUA. He joined the agency in 1998 as a staff attorney. His previous experience includes work as an attorney at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
Mr. Kressman holds a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, a Juris Doctor from the Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Washington, and a Master of Laws degree from The American University Washington School of Law in Washington, D.C.

Steve Stasiukonis is the President of Secure Network Technologies, where he leads advanced initiatives in penetration testing, information-security risk assessments, incident response, and digital investigations. With more than 29 years of experience in the information-security field, Steve has built a distinguished career helping organizations identify critical vulnerabilities, quantify cyber risk, and respond decisively to complex security incidents. Widely recognized for his deep expertise in social engineering, Steve specializes in demonstrating how threat actors exploit human behavior alongside technology to compromise organizations. His work blends hands-on technical proficiency with real-world adversary tactics, providing clients with actionable intelligence and measurable improvements to their security posture.
Steve is a respected thought leader in the cybersecurity community. He regularly contributes expert commentary as a columnist for InformationWeek and DarkReading, where he writes on emerging threats, attacker methodologies, and defensive strategies for modern enterprises.
