Miranda Flury

President

Hawkeye Strategies

As the President of Hawkeye Strategies, Miranda lives out her purpose: Helping to turn light bulbs on. She works with Credit Union Boards and Executives all over the world to support their governance and strategy needs and in turn, she helps their people and communities. Her vast experience as a Professional Facilitator, International Speaker, and Executive Coach for Credit Unions enables her to provide a seamless and engaging experience that is tailored to each audience. Miranda has supported boards, executives, regulators, payments entities, credit union peer groups, credit union centrals, credit union service organizations (CUSOs), and credit union advocacy groups. She has taught governance at prestigious universities including the University of Toronto and University of Wisconsin.

Miranda has spoken at several conferences including the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU), CUES, America’s Credit Unions, National Credit Union Management Association (NCUMA) in the USA, Swoboda Research Centre in the United Kingdom/Ireland, the British Columbia Financial Services Authority (BCFSA) Director’s Forum, and the Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA). She offers her clients the knowledge learned from specialized expertise, tempered with the wisdom of wide-ranging experience from diverse industries. Miranda completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Guelph, a Master’s level degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and an Executive MBA from the University of Fredericton. She has also earned a designation in Advanced Cooperative Governance (CoopDirector.D) and the Institute for Corporate Directors Designation (ICD.D). Miranda has held Board Director roles on cooperative, regulatory, and private boards and has been a director on one of the largest and most complicated cooperatives in North America, Federated Cooperatives Limited. In her spare time, Miranda is a mentor with Futurpreneur where she helps new entrepreneurs successfully start their businesses. She is also a CrossFit enthusiast…but don’t get her started on this topic, she’ll have a hard time stopping! Sumeet Grover

Sumeet Grover is the EVP and Chief Strategic Growth & Digital Officer at UFCU, responsible for leading strategic growth, banking operations, everyday banking products, digital, data, analytics, payments, AI, and technology functions. Previously, Sumeet served as EVP at Alliant, the largest digital credit union in the US. During his tenure, he led digital, marketing, deposits and consumer lending, operations, payments, and member experience functions, and created new benchmarks by delivering industry-leading growth and member satisfaction. 

Prior to Alliant, Sumeet had a nearly two-decade career at Citibank, where he held leadership positions in marketing, digital, client experience, operations and technology functions. As a visionary leader, advisor, educator, and board member, he has a track record of leading cross-functional global teams, developing and executing strategic roadmaps, delivering exceptional client experiences, maximizing business growth, accelerating digital transformation, and generating long-term value. 

Sumeet is deeply committed to community engagement, focusing on financial literacy, housing stability, food security, digital inclusion, and community development. Elliot Eisenberg, Ph.D

Elliot Eisenberg, Ph.D. is a nationally acclaimed economist and public speaker specializing in making the arcana and minutia of economics fun, relevant and educational. He holds a B.A. in economics with first class honors from McGill University, as well as a Masters and Ph.D. in public administration from Syracuse University. Eisenberg, formerly a Senior Economist with the National Association of Home Builders in Washington, D.C., is a frequent speaker on topics including: economic forecasts, economic impact of homebuilding, consequences of government regulation, cost-benefit analysis, prudential use of financial derivatives, strategic business development and other current economic issues. He is the creator of the multifamily stock index (the first nationally recognized index to track the total return of public firms principally involved in the ownership and management of apartments), the author of more than seventy articles and serves on the Editorial Board of the Encyclopedia of Housing. He has spoken to hundreds of business groups and associations, frequently as keynote speaker, and is a frequent guest lecturer on college campuses. Dr. Eisenberg has been invited to testify before lawmakers and is often asked to comment on proposed legislation. His research and opinions have been featured in Bloomberg, Business Week, Forbes, Fortune, and many other publications. He is regularly featured guest on several talk radio shows, is often seen on television and authors a daily 70 word commentary on the economy. His interests include keeping the rate of restoration of his 60 year old house ahead of the rate of deterioration and doting on his daughter. He loves ice hockey and talking economics with crowds large and small!

Lenwood Brooks

Managing Director

Performance Trust​

Lenwood Brooks is a Managing Director in the Financial Institutions Group at Performance Trust. Prior to joining Performance Trust, Brooks served as Director and Vice President of Government and Industry Relations at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, where he cultivated deep relationships with industry stakeholders across the financial services ecosystem. Before that, he was a senior executive at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), serving as Chief of Staff under Chairman Rodney E. Hood. In 2025, Brooks was a member of the NCUA transition team for President Donald J. Trump, giving him firsthand experience navigating the regulatory, legislative, and political dynamics shaping financial services at the highest levels.

Earlier in his career, Brooks served as Vice President at the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), Washington's leading trade association for the capital markets industry. He began his career on Capitol Hill, serving under U.S. Congressman Roger F. Wicker, and continued in that role as Wicker rose to the Senate, where he played a key part during Senator Wicker's tenure on the Senate Banking Committee.

A Jackson, Mississippi, native, Brooks is a graduate of Ole Miss. He currently resides in Fort Worth, Texas. His insights have been featured on CNBC, Fox Business, and other national media outlets.

Sarah Stevenson

Director of Credit Union Risk and Regulatory Strategy

Performance Trust

Sarah joined Performance Trust in October 2025 as the Director of Credit Union Risk and Regulatory Strategy after spending the last 20 years in the credit union industry.  Sarah has worked in several different capacities within the industry beginning in 2005 with a credit union in her hometown where she was a loan officer and then Compliance Manager. Prior to joining PT, she served as the Vice President of AML/AFC and Regulatory Affairs at NASCUS, where she led oversight of state and federal regulatory developments impacting the credit union system. In this role she worked closely with the various agencies, including NCUA, FinCEN, and the state supervisory agencies to interpret complex regulations and guide policy alignment across NASCUS initiatives.  Prior experience also includes senior regulatory and compliance positions with the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services, where she oversaw corporate activities and risk, and the Michigan Credit Union League and Affiliates.

Mark Blazek

CEO

Teremark CIO, LLC

Mark Blazek has spent 30 years in technology and security leadership, serving as a CIO, CISO, and CAIO at organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 100 institutions, including USAA, IBM, Compaq/Hewlett Packard, Texaco, Ascend Federal Credit Union, and CNG Holdings.

At USAA, Mark led technology strategy and execution for an organization serving millions of military members and their families, under some of the most demanding regulatory and security requirements in financial services. His time at Ascend Federal Credit Union gave him a firsthand appreciation for what makes the credit union model different, and for the reality that community institutions face the same technology and cyber challenges as the largest banks - with a fraction of the resources. Much of his work now is aimed at helping credit unions close that gap.

Mark is a named inventor on a U.S. patent, a frequent speaker on technology leadership and cybersecurity, and serves as a board member advising organizations on technology governance. He holds a B.B.A. in Management Information Systems from the University of Houston and an M.S. in Technology Commercialization from the University of Texas at Austin. Mark is the Founder & CEO of Teremark CIO, a fractional CIO, CISO, and CAIO technology leadership firm serving the banking industry.
