Meet The Speakers
Peter Duffy
Managing Director
Piper Sandler
Duffy works with Credit Unions and banks nationwide in competitive analysis, investment portfolio development, charter decisions, board meetings, loan portfolio sales and ALM.
Duffy is the former Chairman of the Credit Union Executive Society Financial Suppliers Advisory Committee and has been a frequent speaker at credit union and bank conferences since 1996, including the November 2006 AEI Panel on the CU Charter. Duffy has worked with credit unions and banks since 1993, has written a monthly column for C.U.E.S. and has been published in C.U. Times and C.U. Journal discussing issues such as competitiveness, investments, asset/liability management, the economy, the right metrics for CUs and charter decisions.
Prior to Sandler O'Neill, Peter Duffy spent 11 years at the Procter and Gamble Company in sales and sales management where he was involved in many test market initiatives for the company. Duffy was also a Sales Manager for Sealy Mattress and National Foods. Most recently, he spent 10 years at First Empire Securities and a year and a half at KBW both in New York. Duffy is a 1977 graduate of Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas where he earned a B.A. in Business Management with a Minor in Marketing. Duffy is a 1973 graduate of Plano High School.
Peter Duffy lives in New York, has coached youth sports for over 30 years and fly fishes whenever he can make it happen.

Justin Anderson

Credit union and financial services law professional with 11+ years of expertise as a regulatory and litigation attorney. Broad knowledge of U.S. laws and regulations related to consumer protection, financial services regulation, the Freedom of Information Act, and federal administrative procedures. Extensive experience interacting with other federal agencies, drafting regulations and legal opinions, analyzing complex areas of law and policy, managing outside counsel, and leading agency staff. Consistently recognized by agency officials for outstanding job performance and the ability to manage a large workload consisting of multiple complex assignments, practices, and advancing leadership presence and execution so that individuals, teams, and organizations can access untapped potential.
Miranda V. Flurry

As the President of Hawkeye Strategies, Miranda lives out her purpose: Helping to turn light bulbs on. She works with Cooperative Boards and Executives across North America to support their governance and strategy needs and in turn, she helps their people and communities.
Her vast experience as a Professional Facilitator, International Speaker, and Expert Educator for Cooperatives enables her to provide a seamless and engaging experience that is tailored to each audience. Miranda has supported Boards, Executives, Regulators, Credit Union Peer Groups, Credit Union Centrals, Credit Union Service Organizations (CUSOs), and Credit Union Advocacy groups. She has spoken at conferences including the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU), the BC Financial Services Authority Director’s Forum, and the Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA). She offers her clients the knowledge gleaned from specialized expertise, tempered with the wisdom of wide-ranging experience from diverse industries.
Miranda completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Guelph, a Master’s level degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and an Executive MBA from the University of Fredericton. She has also earned a designation in Advanced Cooperative Governance. Miranda has held Board Director roles on Cooperative, Regulatory, and Private Boards and is currently a Director on one of the largest and most complicated Cooperatives in North America, Federated Cooperatives Limited. In her spare time, Miranda is a mentor with Futurpreneur where she helps new entrepreneurs successfully start their businesses. Nicole Selli

Nicole helps clients prepare for incident response activities by developing and delivering long-term security transformation programs that are uniquely tailored to help organizations mature. This includes, but is not limited to, leading organizations through tabletop exercises and security program assessments.
Nicole draws on over 20 years of experience supporting the intelligence community at National Agencies, Special Mission Units (SMU), and within the commercial industry. She is a leader in planning, counterterrorism, and information security, specializing in supporting cyber security operations within critical industries. Additionally, having provided numerous briefings to executive Department of Defense (DoD) leaders, Nicole has helped manage teams of cyber defenders, intelligence analysts, and special operators; often in austere environments. Prior to her current role within Mandiant Consulting, Nicole led Mandiant's Military and Department of Defense programs. As part of the Global Services and Intelligence organization, Nicole focused on project management to the Federal government, where she assisted with Intelligence Operations, Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO), Incident Response, cyber exercises, and cyber training intended to further build and maintain immediate mission capacity for Federal customers. Prior to joining Mandiant, Nicole was a contract Deputy Lead for Intelligence Support to DCO, a Deputy Team Lead in an SMU, a Senior Counter-Terrorism Analyst, and a Senior Cyber threat Intelligence Analyst. Throughout her career, she’s worked in the United States, Europe, and deployed to various operational theaters while serving in the U.S. military as a government civilian, and a DoD contractor; allowing her to provide a unique understanding of special operations to Federal clients. Nicole received a master’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing, as well as a Bachelor's of Science and Management, and Intelligence Analyst 96B certification through the United States Army.
Frank Kelly

Having worked as a senior executive on Wall Street as well as having served in senior government roles, Frank brings extensive global experience and insight into the public policy decision-making process and its impact on global markets.
Frank began his career as a writer for President Ronald Reagan and went on to serve in the White House Office of Political Affairs. He served as a writer for President George H.W. Bush and then served at the Justice Department in the Office of Policy Development, focusing on national security and international issues. From there, Frank went to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, being appointed Senior Policy Advisor to the Chairman and Chief Spokesman for the Commission as well as a member of the SEC Senior Staff.
He then joined Merrill Lynch Investment Banking in New York serving as Chief of Staff and Global Head of Marketing for Investment Banking, Sales & Trading. Frank was also a member of the German/Swiss/Austria country coverage team and was involved in numerous large cross-border deals. He returned to Washington DC to establish Charles Schwab & Co.’s first Global Government & Regulatory Affairs operation. He served as both the Senior Vice President and Global Head of Government Affairs and the firm’s first Chief Political Strategist.
Frank joined Deutsche Bank in 2003 as the Bank’s first Head of Government Affairs and then later, Global Coordinator for Government & Public Affairs. He was also the Bank’s first Chief Political Strategist. In this role, he advised the Bank’s top institutional clients globally on US and geopolitical issues. He also has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, establishing and heading up the Bank’s Direct Investment Advisory Group (DIAG). Frank and his team advised corporates on sensitive national and economic security-related mergers and acquisitions seeking approvals from the US Committee for Foreign Investment in the US (CFIUS).
He is a member of the board of directors of Barnwell Industries (NYSE: BRN), a diversified oil/gas drilling/land development company.
Frank is also a Senior Advisor to The Scowcroft Group, a global business advisory firm with an emphasis on emerging markets. It supports clients at every business development stage, including political risk analysis, strategic planning, risk management, market development, and ongoing operations. The firm also supports clients in the investment community, providing leading-edge analysis of market impact events and trends.
Frank is an adjunct professor at The Catholic University School of Business teaching coursework on Business Intelligence and Risk Assessment. He is also a Senior Associate with the Americas Program at the Center for International and Strategic Studies (CSIS) in Washington where he focuses on Latin American politics, economics, and trade.
Frank serves on the Board of Directors of CODESPA America, an organization dedicated to helping those living in extreme poverty become self-reliant through access to dignified and sustainable work. He also serves as Vice-Chair of the Jerome Lejeune Foundation of America which is dedicated to advocating for people with Downs Syndrome.
Frank is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the International Institute for Strategic Studies, the American Council on Germany, and the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies. He resides outside Washington DC in Great Falls, Virginia with his wife, Maura, on their working farm, Open Door Farm.
