SPOUSE/GUEST HALEAKALA VOLCANO / SEA SPIRIT NETWORKING EXPERIENCE

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 6

8:30AM-2:00PM

Fee: $214.00 per person

Resort departure time: 8:30 am

Your guest will be welcomed aboard a luxury minibus featuring wide side windows for exceptional views along the way. This Haleakala experience is driver-narrated.

 Arrival Haleakala Summit: 10-10:15 am

First stop: Viewing and walking the Volcano crater atop Haleakala is among the most sought-after experiences in Maui and is often rated as the number 1 activity in all of Hawaii. The landscape, altitude (10 000 ft), unique flora, and pervasive influence of ancient Hawaiian culture combine to create an event beyond imagination. Haleakala, “House of the Sun,” is home to over 1,000 different species of plant life. During the 38-mile ascent, your guest will view the magnificent silver sword plant found nowhere else on earth and pass ancient sacred locations from the safety and comfort of the vehicle. As they ascend through the clouds, they will experience changes in topography, weather, and scenery accompanied by elevation changes.

Haleakala was formed approximately 1 million years ago by the building up of layers of flowing lava. It’s been a sacred location for Polynesian people who settled on the island between 400-650 A.D.

Summit experience duration 1 hour (free time):

Guests will have many photo opportunities by walking the summit freely, including the crater, and viewing both sides of the volcano.

 Recommendations:

Weather at the summit of a volcano can be unpredictable and ever-changing, which is part of the experience. Morning temperatures at 10 000 feet can go as low as 60 degrees Fahrenheit, including clear sunny skies, so sunscreen is a must! Hydration is also important.

Bring sunscreen, a water bottle, a sweatshirt or windbreaker, sunglasses, gloves, and running shoes for maximum comfort, and get ready for this adventure!

Departure from the Grand Wailea Resort: 8:30 AM

Return to resort at 2:00 PM

Second stop: Situated on 80 acres of breathtaking views, Hawaii Sea Spirit Organic Farm and Distillery, is home to Ocean Organic Vodka.  At this location, your guests will make their second stop for an outdoor and relaxing dining experience under the sun with magnificent views overlooking both East and West Maui, the sugar fields, the valleys, and the beauty of the Pacific Ocean, with Haleakala as a backdrop. This will be a relaxing moment before their return to the resort.
